Meow, my dears,
when it gets cold outside and the heater is running inside, I notice it immediately.
My skin feels dry more quickly, my fur seems less smooth—
and I know: I'm not alone in this.
Many people think of fur first when it comes to cat grooming.
But I tell you: Skin and fur belong together.
And that is exactly why both deserve attention – not just in winter, but all year round.
❄️ Why my skin needs more attention in winter
My daily life changes noticeably in winter:
- dry heating air
- less fresh air
- warm, often very dry sleeping spots
- lower humidity
All of this can cause my skin to feel dry or sensitive more quickly and my fur to look more brittle.
Sensitive cats in particular notice these changes very quickly.
That is why I consciously pay attention to gentle care and small, regular routines in winter.
Not too much.
Not too rare.
Just right for my everyday life.

🌿 Skin care isn't a winter topic – but a year-round one
Even though winter intensifies many things, skin care is not just a seasonal topic.
Because my skin is challenged throughout the rest of the year too:
- in summer due to warm surfaces and sun
- in autumn due to shedding
- in daily life due to grooming, rubbing, lying, and cuddling
My personal rule is therefore:
Gentle, natural, and regular –
instead of rare and too much.
A care routine should feel good, fit easily into daily life, and not force anything.

for my skin, my fur, and also for my nose.
Everything else I skillfully ignore. 😼
